Camera Guide

• Put the safety strap around your neck so camera is secure
• move the power switch so that the power is on
• look through the viewfinder eyepiece and adjust the diopter with your right hand while looking through the screen so that the image is clear
• you are on the Doane Stuart Soccer Field, midday. it is cloudy and the skies are grey. your subject is Amy standing close to you
• You press and hold the white balance button and move the main-command dial so that the white balance area of the control panel gives a cloud symbol, because you need to tone out the blue light with orange light
• You want to let in a lot of light because it is cloudy, and because the sun is behind you, and because Amy is your only subject you move the sub-command dial so that your aperture says F3.5. 
• Because you let in light with your aperture and don't want a noisy picture, you press and hold the sensitivity button and move the main command dial so that your ISO says 200
• Amy is not moving so you don't need a fast shutter speed, and because of the not so strong light you move the main-command dial so that your shutter speed is 160. 
• amy is your only subject, so set the focus-mode selector on "M" for manual. Look through your viewfinder and press the shutter-release half way down so you can get your image in focus. Once you have pressed it half way down, your focus ring on the lens until Amy is the main focus of the picture.
• Press down the shutter-release all the way to take your picture
